So on Friday, I packed and then went to my friend's house. We went to the church to get packed in the car and leave... and found nobody there. Turns out the pastor had to go and deliver a baby. We waited for three hours on devices, then actually left at around nine thirty PM. We drove until ten thirty, when we got settled in and checked in. We stayed up until around midnight. I had to bring tons of "healthy" snacks (leftover fruit snacks from my sister's birthday party, and Goldfish), and everyone else had exotic delicacies like Twix Bites and pull-apart watermelon Twizzlers. They also brought juice and Doritos. All amazing things, especially because they didn't mind sharing. I maaaay have devoured most of the Twizzlers.
The next day, it was time for SKIING! (is that the right spelling?) We got up, put on what felt like twenty layers of clothing, and somehow got to breakfast. After a delicious meal of things such as banana muffins and sausages, we went to the car and drove to the skiing mountain. I fell asleep. Once we got there, we checked in and then got in our gear! Ski boots are INSANELY hard to put on and walk in, or basically do anything in. Darn things must have weighed twenty pounds. The helmet was pretty easy to put on, though. I got some "Lime" skis and suffered through a two-hour-long lesson that went WAY too slow. I didn't use 99% of the tips he taught us, and it took way too long to be useful. It took the entire morning. I had lunch, then we got to actually ski. I only went down some bunny hills, but it was extremely fun. My arms hurt, and my feet have blisters. It was still pretty awesome. I also tried Takis for the first time. They're really, REALLY good. The only spicy thing I'll ever eat. mmmmmmmmmmmmm...
Sorry, got too enraptured. After we skiied, we took off our boots and stuff and it felt SO GOOD. You know when you get off a trampoline and jump and feel like "what? why aren't I jumping?" It was the opposite of that. It felt really good. Afterwards, we got in the car and drove back. It turns out that some cars were on the ice of the lake and went through when the ice melted. Thankfully, nobody was hurt, least of all us, but it was pretty close. Anyways, we came back and had dinner and then "fellowship", a church thing that was pretty cool and team-build-y and actually the best churchy thing I've had. We had ice cream, went to bed, et cetera.
Sunday, we woke up and packed. Then we went to breakfast and church. It was a really fast service- maybe forty-five minutes at most. I liked it because it was brief and still taught me a lot. I never thought I'd like church. Hm, interesting. Anyways, after that, we packed up and drove home, then me and my friend hung out at their church for a bit until her mom got back. Then we hung out at her house until my dad came to pick me up. All in all, it was fun. Challenging, but fun. The other girls were nice (they shared their takis, so I am forever indebted) and I enjoyed the break from reality. Not much else to report- so I'm going for now.
Bye!
